The Story Gets Even Better. . .
I called Apple to get my extended warranty for the new laptop. They told me that I did not have a warranty on my old unit. To make a very long phone call short, the bottom line is that they could not find the warranty today because it expired YESTERDAY!!! ( I could swear that it ended in DEC. of 2007, but I was wrong.) One day more and I would not have been able to get a replacement laptop. God is continuing to blow me away! His timing is PERFECT even when we can not understand it!

God Answers Prayer in Unexpected Ways!
Okay, so I am trying to figure out how I can save up enough for a Apple PowerBook Pro to replace my older, overworked PowerBook. I have been praying that God would bring someone to me who had an extra couple grand and say, "Hey, Alice I would like to help out! I heard you needed to replace your old laptop. Here is a check!" I have heard it happen time and time again. Maybe, just maybe God would do it for me too!I have been having some major problems with my laptop since I have been back in the States. I have extended warranty, so I took my poor, overworked "baby" in to get fixed. I spent about 18 hours last week at Apple with a tech trying to figure out what was going one with it. They replaced just about everything they could think of and sent me home. The tech told me to use it as much as I could so they could make sure it would work when I got back to Poland. I got home and after about two hours of using it, it stopped working.
I went back to Apple today to try and get this thing working. . . I was starting to loose patience, I will admit. . .
The tech looked at my computer and said, "I've got good news and bad news."
"Okay. . . " I was ready to hear that they had to send my computer in AGAIN!
"Do you have anything against a BookPro?"
I said,"No, why? I have been trying to save up for one."
He smiled and said, "You don't need to now. Good news is that I am exchanging our new BookPro for your PowerMac."
"You are joking!" I sat at the "Genius Bar" with a stupid look on my face. . . "What's the bad news?" I asked.
He smiled, "I have to keep the box to send back your old laptop. Good thing you have AppleCare!"
That's BAD news??? Okay. . .
Ten minutes later, I walked out with a new Apple Power BookPro! Tears filled my eyes as I got into my car. God is so good! He is concerned even it the small stuff like the tools that we use for ministry. He answered my prayer by not spending a dime for a new computer!!!! Apple Inc. has now unwittingly become a supporter of the mission to the youth of Poland!
God uses the most interesting people to help further HIS KINGDOM!
Just another lesson He has been teaching me about trusting in HIM!

We are inviting high school and college aged students to come and enjoy God's creation! It is a first contact event for many and Dan Hash and my friend Przemek will be speaking at night. Please pray for this event.
Personal note: I am praying to get back to Poland by Feb. 12th! I am still needing more funds before I can go. If you would like to help, go to this link . . . Here!

A Shameless Apple Plug!
Just when tired Bill Gates' announces his retirement, here comes his "energizer bunny" nemesis Steve JOBS!!!Steve Jobs was wonderful in his key note address at he MacWorld Expo 2007! I was blown away by the new iPhone AND the fact that Apple Computer is now Apple Inc.
Imagine, a bluetooth phone/sms/internet browser/and iPod video(widescreen) all in ONE palm sized unit! Wow! All I can say is WOW!
My friends think that all I know and can run is APPLE. Not true. I worked with PC for years (I even worked for a PC repair company) before I got tired of them shutting down all the time for no reason!
I don't have to worry about my Mac shutting down . . . unless I cause it!
As much as I love Apple and what it is doing, I hope that Inc.ing will NOT start spreading their expertise too thin.

New Year's Resolution
As I look at the new year, I recall the passage of Romans 8 which I have been trying to meditate on:
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. 6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.) And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God."
As I take this section of scripture to heart, I ask that the Spirit will continue to mold my identity into HIM! I no longer have to live my life in order to have him save me, but I live my life BECAUSE He has saved me from my sin!So instead of a New Year's resolution that I more than likely will forget or quite after a few weeks, I look to this year to continue to allow the Spirit to lead and guide me throughout this new year.

Happy NEW YEAR!!!
A new year. . . what will you be up to God? What will you teach me? What will I give up to you? This past year has been full of transition and struggle for me. Yet, through it all, He has been faithful! He has seen me through it all and I praise HIS NAME!!!! I have been forced to dig deep into the basics of my faith. It has not been easy or comfortable, but it has been GOOD!
Have you ever wondered if your view of God is mostly based on Truth or on tradition? I am doing this in a deeper way than before. My theology is good, but there have been areas where my theology has been tainted by traditional values which are not biblical. I think every "lifer" has had to deal with this several times in their life.
It has been refreshing to get back to the basics and eye opening to see where I have molded God into an image that I thought He should fit. I am grateful that God is a patient God. He allows me to fumble and struggle just as a loving father would. He allows me to make mistakes and He rejoices in my successes! May my view of God NEVER become one of the world but continue to be one of Truth through His Word!
May this New Year bring you closer to God than you were last year. May His Truth shine in your life. May you look back in 2008 and say, "God, what a good year! Not easy, not comfortable and even not safe, but GOOD!"
