Camp is starting tomorrow!!!!

wroclaw-2006-06-28-11-20.jpg

Camp starts tomorrow! We are traveling to Wrocław, Poland to do a NEW English camp! I am excited about the fact that we are starting THREE new camps this summer in THREE new towns! This camp will be a bit different in the fact that there is no North American team coming to work with the Polish church. It is the intern team and some great individuals along with the newest JV arrivals, Daniel and Iwona Eifling! I am excited to work with them!

Please pray for:

1. Team unity. We will all be together for the first time on Thursday.
2. For campers to see our love for Christ and for one another and that will become infectious.
3. That I lead the intern team well.
4. That as conflicts come up, which they will, we will be able to deal with them quickly and lovingly.
Most importantly, that God will move in the hearts of the young Poles as they learn English and they see that following Christ is much more than going to church and paying homage to a religious icon.

Thanks for your prayers!

Also, please pray for my old youth group from Colorado. They are stuck in Chicago, trying to come over here to do a camp. (not one I am doing, sniff sniff) Pray that they will have a great time of bonding and unity while they wait for the plane. Also, the delay has altered plans for them here, so please pray that their camp will go smoothly, according to what God has in store for them! :)

Poland Intern Team 2006

SkoczowInternteambest-2006-06-17-22-59.jpg

Here are the intern team members:

Back left is Alice Robbins - Colorado,
Tomek & Marta Karzalek - Skoczow/Germany

Front left: Mickey Lang - Colorado,
Becky Pinnell - California, Rachel Anthony - Colorado, Tori Loomis - Colorado

Here they are! The stellar team of 2006! They are a great team of diverse people and the way that tackled the Amazing Race without killing anyone, spoke of their individual character as well as their building unity.

Please pray for this team as we lead and participate in 3 NEW camps this summer! It will be a great challenge as well as great opportunity to see God's Glory reign!

The Amazing Race!

AmazLogo-2006-06-4-16-41.jpg

I survived the Josiah Venture Amazing Race! It was a lot of fun. Each intern from 10 different contrast was told to pack a small carry-on backpack and be ready to receive a clue as soon as they got off the plane in Prague, Czech Republic.

For 2 1/2 days, each team traveled all over Prague and then to our final destination, Melanovice, Czech Republic where we started our week long training for the summer.

I was give a front row seat to see how my team would react under the pressure of jet lag, culture, misunderstanding, language barriers, and just the stress of the game. I could only be the cameraman, I could not help. I went where they decided to go. It was frustrating for me at times and yet it was great to see this group of virtual strangers come together and work together to a common goal: to not be last! :)

I am here in Melanovice in the middle of training, enjoying the 150 or so interns and hearing how God is moving this generation to reach Eastern Europe. Each morning we all have great devotions and then we work on camp stuff. The afternoons are more meetings and then the evening is a great time of worship and Dave Patty, JV's President is taking us through Philippians. It is great!

It has been raining all week and you can not see the mountains across the valley, but it is a beautiful place to be and get the summer started!
