He Too, Was Human

This Christams was full of mixed emotions for me. So many conflictions waged inside me. This was the first Christmas without my grandparents (they are now both in heaven) . . . I was with my family, yet not with my Polish team. . . I am in the States and not in Poland, yet I am enjoying being here . . . I am having a great time yet am homesick for Poland . . . I am learning to trust God in His timing for my return and yet am a bit anxious to get back home. I even found myself wondering if Jesus really understood my struggle . . .

As I was going through all of these emotions, I was listening to Todd Agnew's new Christmas CD. GREAT CD by the way! The song "Did You Know" really hit me hard in the fact that Jesus truly does understand my suffering. He KNEW what it was like to live in two places. I have always read this in scripture, yet this year I can say that I understand it in a deeper way this year. I thought about the verses in Hebrews 4 where we are told that Jesus can truly sympethise with us and our weeknesses. "Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let's not let it slip through our fingers. We don't have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help."MSG

This season has been great and yet not quite "normal". Each time I see a nail now, I will think of this Christmas and this song. Jesus was human just as He was devine.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this reminder.

Did You Know?
Todd Agnew
from Do You See What I See?

Were Mary’s the first eyes you saw
Or did You remember choosing that shade of brown?
Were You surprised at the shepherd’s crazy story
Or did You know You wrote the song the angels sang?

What was this life like for You?

Did You know?
Did the cross cast its shadow o’er your cradle?
Did You know?
Did You shudder each time Your hammer struck a nail?
Did you know?
How much heaven and how much earth
Were in this baby at His birth?
Did you know? Or did you wonder?

Did you remember the brightness of Your glory Or did You just notice it was cold and dark here?
Did You know Your name or did you have to be told?

Were You just a baby or were You as old as time?

What was Your life like?
