Cooking in the Van

Hey all! I just wanted to ask you to pray for this next and final camp. We are in the van and I am connected via a wireless card. It is pretty cool! This next camp is going to be great! It is very hot though and there is no airconditioning. Pray for us us we are sleeping on the third floor of the church and as everyone knows, heat rises!

Also, there has been a lot of opposition from the Catholic church against this camp. Swiebodzin is VERY Catholic and a few years ago there was a Prodistant camp and it did not go well. The local priest is not happy that another camp, so it is assumed that our camp will be the same (which it is not).

So it is in the 90s and we are in a van with only two windows that open. God is good though because the sun is starting to go down and we have a few more hours before we get there.

The American team that is working with us is GREAT! They are all college aged and I look forward to working with this group!

Thanks for your prayers!

PS Forgive the spelling errors. I have no spell check right now. :)

Two Down One to Go!

I can not believe that the summer is almost over and that I only have one more camp. This last camp is Skoczow (schochoof) was great! It was the first camp for both the Poland church and the American youth group. Our team's roles were much different in that we only filled wholes and taught both groups how to do things. It was great to be able to focus more on relationships. For me it was great to connect with American high schoolers again. I have missed them so much in the last 6 months. I got close to a few of them and it was hard to say good-bye.

The interns did GREAT! I was so proud of the way they lead the camp. God is good and is teaching all of us things that we did not expect.

The Polish youth group was good to work with. They are a young group full of dreams to reaching their community for Christ. It was an unusual camp due to the fact that Skoczow is mostly Protestant and that the Catholic church is not as powerful there. The mind set was different and I got a front row seat to watch how God was working with and in this church.

God is good. In 3 days we go up north to do our final camp, then spend a few days debriefing the summer and then I say good bye to the interns. It is bitter sweet for me. I have really come to enjoy and love this intern team, but I also look forward to hearing how God will use then and continue to grow them as they go back to the States.
