I have struggled with my Polish. I know that is not a surprise to any one who reads this. It has been a slower process than I have liked, but yesterday when Jacob Hash and I were meeting at an Irish restaurant, I ordered fruit juice for us and later the waitress came back and said (something like), "Your Polish is very good. I did not know you would be able to speak Polish when you came in. (she heard us speaking English when we walked in) You have a very good accent." It was a great thing for me to hear this.
Today, I had refrigerator problems, again and had to have a repairman come out. Can we say STRESS?? Not only do repair men tend to speak too fast for anyone, they also use industry vocabulary, which I know none! Well, I did it! I did not understand all the words, but he was patient and explained the problem to me more slowly the second time and I understood! Tomorrow I get to start lessons again and I am looking forward to another jump in my language!
