Life of Silence

I have been suffering from allergies for 2 weeks now. That has brought on an infection in my voice box which has taken away my speech for the past 5 days. It has been both frustrating and relieving to not have a voice. I have had to be quiet and just "be".

I have enjoyed my solitude, but am ready to get to it! I have missed two language classes and I need to speak to my team. I can do neither right now. I had the internet for connection, but now that is not even working. The frustration level is rising, but I hold onto the fact and hope that God is right here beside me. He is watching over my every cough and every frustrated momement. He will not leave my side.

During my silence, I am trying to listen. All I hear right now is, "'Be' my dear child, just 'be' in Me and I in you.". Thanks to D. Thompson back home, I know what that means!

Please pray for my voice.

MOOSK

Well here we are at the end of another year of Moosk. It has been 3 years since this wonderful team has been put together and the youth of Katowice have had a chance to see the love of Jesus lived out. Our last meeting was on Saturday and it was bitter sweet. Our leaders are getting older and getting their own lives and the generation is changing again. We are not sure what will happen with MOOSK. We do know that it must change with the generation. Please pray for us during this time of transition and brainstorming. We want to be wise and follow what God wants for the youth of Katowice.

One of the students put this wonderful video together showing the faces and leaders of MOOSK.

Northern Ireland

I remember sitting around a table with my fellow missionaries three years ago lamenting the fact that many of our young leaders were leaving Poland only to go to N. Ireland to make money for this or that. "What are we going to do for leaders here in Poland?" was the question. It was a very difficult time and still is for us.

God knows what He is doing though! Two weekends ago, I was able to spend my birthday with my Polish friends who have been living in Belfast, N. Ireland. It was a joy to see their lives and to see the church that they have started for Polish immigrants there!
While I was there, I taught at the home group gathering and was blessed but the stories of Poles who have met Jesus by moving to N. Ireland! Our Polish leaders whom we lost in Poland are doing what they were trained to do, but in Northern Ireland! It was amazing to see the church in action!
An added bonus was go on to Operation Mobilization's Logos Hope mercy ship and reunite with a former student of mine (in Denver), Hannah Wilson! What joy filled my heart to spend time with her!

Wild times!

It has been a wild 2 months.  I have noted that I have not been blogging much.  I am going to rectify that.  I find myself twittering more now than blogging.  If you would like to follow me on  twitter, you can follow the link on the side column where I have my twitter updates.  It is quite fun and you can get some of the "non-ministry" stuff too.

Things I will update:

Easter
My trip to Northern Ireland
Spring Conference
General feelings about this seasons camps
